I usually refer to this picture as the house on stilts even though I'm not absolutely certain that it is, or ever was, anyone's residence.  I just think it's an awfully interesting structure and I like to imagine that someone enjoys living in it.  One day soon I'll go back to take more pictures of my "stilted house" and when I go I'll try to learn more about it.

Please let me introduce book 2 of the orples series, now available through Amazon.com. I've been working on this book for awhile now and finally have the softcover version self-published. The e-book version is still in the works, but should be available shortly for anyone that is interested. Please feel free to click on the link, if more no other reason than to help me up my numbers in the search engines on Amazon.

Luther Brigman is an artist from Canada. He has been drawing most of his life. His artworks are mostly wildlife, native art. He also does portraits, carving, painting, etc. He has been mostly self taught, has been influenced by observing others, and learning things from different people in his life, mostly his father. He prefers to use photographs as a reference for his pieces, for the reason that, light and color change every second, and a photo is the only way to capture all the true colors and lighting of an image.

While doing research for a story set in Kiev (Kyive), Ukraine, I came across the photograph of this amazing tree. Since I love seeing what Photoshop filters can do to enhance photographs, I tried them on this wonderful old tree.

“Grünewald’s Oak Age: 800-900 years, named after the famous painter Matthias Grünewald who used to draw fantasy trees.”
